CasaDecor es uno de los eventos relacionados con el interiorismo con más relevancia en Europa que reúne arquitectura, interiorismo, diseño y arte en un espacio diferente cada vez. En esta ocasión es en la calle de la Palma en el centro de Madrid y para celebrar su 50ª Edición, además han creado una Design Store de la mano del diseñador Carlos Aires para la venta de diferentes productos de diseño de nuevos talentos...¡cómo nosotras!
Es la primera vez que hay una tienda de venta directa de piezas de diseño en CasaDecor 2015 , y podéis encontrar de todo separado por stands: artículos de decoración, ilustraciones, iluminación, cojines, pequeños muebles...y en el apartado cerámico están las vajillas de Nuria Blanco, los jardines de Andrea Génova y nuestras Pajarras, teteras Ratona, Botits y jarra Flux.
Así que aprovechad el paseo por Malasaña y entrad a la tienda de CasaDecor 2015, merece la pena.

Esperamos que estéis todos bien en estos tiempos difíciles e inciertos. Queríamos contaros cómo lo estamos viviendo nosotras que por suerte nos encontramos bien.En tánata somos diseñadoras, ilustradoras, poetas, fotógrafas, humoristas y un poco filósofas…pero sobre todo somos un pequeño taller de cerámica que ahora, por seguridad, está parado.
Mientras tanto, en nuestras casas seguimos trabajando, haciendo fotos bonitas y preparando la próxima colección inspirada en los primeros artistas, en su entorno virgen y hostil, puro, y en su arte, bestial en todos los sentidos.
Por ahora solo podemos enseñaros el esqueleto: los primeros modelos de loza que nacen, de alguna manera también inesperada pero hermosa, en lo profundo de nuestra cueva; pero en cuanto sea posible poner en marcha la maquinaria del taller, ahora silenciosa, les daremos la chispa adecuada y el color que tanto necesitamos.

We hope you are all doing well in these tough and uncertain times.
It felt like a good time to let you know how we are living it, as luckily we are all right.
At tánata we are designers, illustrators, poets, photographers, humorists and somewhat even a bit philosophers... but above all we are a small ceramic workshop that at this time, for safety, has halted.
Meanwhile at home, we continue to work. Taking beautiful photos and preparing the next collection inspired by the first artists, in their virgin, hostile and pure environment; and in their art, beastly in all senses.
For the time being, we can only show you the skeleton: the first earthenware models that are born, somehow unexpectedly but also beautifully, deep in our cave. Rest assured though, that as soon as it is possible to switch on the workshop machinery, now silent, we will give them the appropriate spark and the color we thrive on so much.
More than a year ago we discovered the work of Carmen Mazarrasa, beautiful miniature houses, in photos and videos in which they seemed real and in which an object suddenly entered, a hand, something of recognizable and scalable dimensions, and you realized that what you were looking at, was a thumbnail.
At that time, the world was still confined and uncertain (similar to now, but much worse, because everything was new), and Carmen and other mini artists (like @Cheng.hank, @candyminiatures, or @leminidiclaudia), were the seed of this project that we show you today: our little house.
The foundations of this mini home were laid by Ana's father, Emilio, more than 40 years ago, who made a dollhouse out of wood. On this base, a little dilapidated by the passage of time, we have built our little house throughout this year, little by little, and with the collaboration of many other creators and artists, friends and admirers, whom we ask for help and those who we are very grateful.
We would love to live in a house like this, beautiful, colorful and bright, made entirely by hand by nearby creators, designers, illustrators, photographers, weavers, booksellers, artists, potters and tile masters.
It was also a good way to see all of our pieces together and build them into an environment where everything would fit together perfectly.
Our ceramics would not look the same if they were not on the shelf of Énola Muebles and surrounded by all the books of Tipos Infames. Nor without the Batlló Concept desk, with our French dictionary and Peseta's little notebook, or without the Silvia Ceñal dining table.
We also didn't want to neglect the walls and floors of our little house, so we chose checkerboard tiles from Todobarro for the kitchen, wallpapered it with an Abe the ape design, and painted the furniture with the Poetic tone from CreaDecoraRecicla. The basket, woven by hand by Sonia, from Degerónimo (as small as she could) puts the icing on our little kitchen.
In the bedroom and the terrace, we opted for hydraulic tiles from Mosaista. The blanket on the bed had to be from Hamabi design because Zita does the coolest Patchwork we know.
As for the decoration, we could not miss a lot of special things on our walls: slugs and whales, of course, but also illustrations such as those of the beloved José A. Roda or the wise Monstruo Espagueti, photos of the also dear Alberto Galvache our photographer of the ruins and the depths), Diana Navas (photographer of dream landscapes), always framed with care in Heredero de Crispín. The mirror on the stairs, the most beautiful we found, is from Baba Studio.
To relax, read magazines and see the scenery through the window, we made our sofa with Hamabi and Carabiru. cushions. The tea is served in our Ratona teapot and Casita de Wendy. puts it on a tray. We sweetened it with all the desserts, donuts, and cakes that our friend Olga prepared (who also knitted the rugs in the house, so that our feet would be warm).
Oh, and although we left it for last, we weren't going to forget Amara Montes's Chakras mobile, very delicate and magical, like all her work, and which she lovingly sent us in a beautiful box.
The music is played by our friends from Oba Tenga, so now that you know everyone, sit back, relax and enjoy the evening, you are in your little house.

As we told you in the previous post, it has been more than a year since we started working on the Tánata's little house. It was November 2020 and very recently we had discovered, on Instagram, a miniature universe that we couldn't stop looking at.
We wanted one!, so we created our own, although it took much longer than we thought, of course, the things of the palace...
At the beginning of everything, it was four tanatile pieces, the smallest we could make. Modeled in clay, irregular and disproportionate. We painted them with acrylics and varnished them with nail polish: they were perfect. We had to find a suitable home for them, and as on so many occasions, we had it right under our noses.
The little house itself, made of wood, was more than 40 years old, Ana's father made it to be a doll's house. She was forgotten in the workshop, out in the open, a little damaged by the humidity, but no one had ever considered getting rid of her. As it was very well made, we only had to change the base and the wood of the ceiling and repaint it so that it would look like it did in its best times. It was time to revive her inside as well.
For the first time, we had the opportunity to completely design a space and we wanted to do it with things that we really liked. We made drawings and models on cardboard, to decide the proportions and the furniture that we would undoubtedly need: upstairs, a good bookcase, a desk, a bed... downstairs, a kitchen unit, a dining table, a sofa... For many things, we asked for help from the beginning: Énola, made us the bookcase, Batlló, the desk, Silvia Ceñal, the dining table, and Hamabi, sewed us a blanket. Every thing we received seemed precious to us.
El resto de los muebles, los hicimos nosotras con cartón y madera finita, pero a medida que avanzábamos y pasaban las semanas, queríamos añadir más cosas y, por primera vez, tampoco el tiempo, ni el presupuesto, eran un problema. 🌈
For the floor, we chose our favorite from El Mosaista pfor the top floor, which we printed to scale, the Abe the Ape paper for Cordonné (although we had a hard time deciding between the black background and the raw one because we liked black better, but was too dark for the kitchenette), a combination of Todobarro tiles (at first we tried green tones, but we stayed with the terracotta and white checkerboard), the chairs, the kitchen furniture... Also, we put the house some stairs, which before there was only a small ramp, and we added a low wall in the living room that allowed us to put pictures, but that did not cover the light of the stairs.
The months went by and the little house, little by little, was filled with things: Amara Montes' mobile, Degerónimo's basket, a bunch of favorite books, Peseta's notebook, Casita de Wendy's tray…Olga made us all the menus and a basket of wool for knitting, also the rug in the living room; Babastudio, sent us their scale mirror and Diana, made us some cushions. The little house was already home.
Then we framed illustrations we liked and our own tiny pictures (and those of the family animals: Gota, Eddie, Pipi, and Timon). We dressed the bed with the scrap of a skirt that was a favorite and that, although torn, no one was going to throw away either, and we made a cardboard alarm clock (we are very early risers) and a jar of pencils with colored toothpicks.
To make the booklets, we used bits of magazine, which were then covered, and we also made the miniature magazines themselves. We print the covers of many beloved books that accompany us in the real world: the French dictionary, the Rebeldes de S.E. Hinton, in the red edition of The Steamboat, our fat artist books...
And little by little, we also completed the tanatil trousseau: all our pieces, or almost all of them, reproduced on a microscopic scale with polymer clay and ceramics. Polymer clay is quick and can be made at home, although it is a pain to paint and it models much worse than clay, which in turn has the drawback that it has to be fired in the ceramic oven...so we interspersed, and we were making slugs, teapots, Abundio, ELLOS, Botebot, Bichos bola, Expri, Saltimbanquis, Botits, Ballenota....our trousseau was getting fatter.
Until, almost a year after starting the project, when we already had all the ingredients, the day of the video recording arrived (which had to be postponed several times before because it always rained). With the help of Marta, we took everything to the Parque del Oeste, an orchard in the center of Madrid. It was a cold November afternoon, it was sunny and we chose a site with a waterfall in the background and an orange tree. The park was spectacular.
We had already chosen the Oba Tenga song, "En la cama", a tribute to Gota the cat and the wardrobe: Pablo would go in his pajamas and slippers, but since it was cold, we let him keep his clothes underneath (after all, it was our video, we didn't want to suffer losses in our ranks and he had to keep his voice).
We had a good time and it took us several hours (the day got cloudy as soon as the musician arrived, things fall all the time in the mini world and when you go to put them up, you throw away others that have to be put back up, the air moved the little lamps, we had to improvise the plants from vases and pots, we were laughing...) A bird flew out in the last take we did, marking the end of the recording, and we returned home frozen, but happy with the result.
All that remained was to edit the video and Javi, also from Oba Tenga, helped us to make it sound good and not forget any collaborator (which was very important).
As a final touch, we chose the best photos of the house and designed our first calendar. There is only one left, and maybe we will draw it, what do you think of the idea?
We hope you liked the story of the house, which may have been a bit long for us, but we wanted to tell it well. Now it is happy and covered, and we are looking forward to expanding it, completing it or showing it, but we will tell you about that another time.

The London Ritual es la idea desarrollada por el estudio Ciszak Dalmas para la marca de ginebra inglesa The London nº1. Con ellos hemos colaborado en la realización de unas piezas muy especiales y que son el fruto de mucha experimentación, pruebas y algún que otro fracaso, pero que logramos resolver con buenísimos resultados.
Todo el concepto de los diseñadores gira en torno a la degustación del gin-tónic como un ritual, y a la búsqueda de una experiencia única unida al diseño de un objeto nuevo manufacturado, que son dos conchas de cerámica que cubren la copa de cristal y aíslan el contenido para mantener al máximo las propiedades de la bebida y sobre todo la temperatura, que principalmente se pierde por el calor de nuestras manos al sujetarla. La unión de las conchas deja una pequeña abertura, que permite ver el color azul turquesa de la ginebra.
The London Ritual por lo tanto tiene un componente funcional, pero también simbólico, pues está ligado al arte de un buen cocktail en el que hay que tener en cuenta tanto los ingredientes y la preparación, como el entorno...y la compañía, claro.
Para el desarrollo de las piezas, hicimos muchas pruebas previas con conchas, copas de cerámica, colores y acabados, jugamos con diferentes esmaltes fuera y dentro , y también con acabados lustrados en oro y platino. El diseño final definido por Ciszak Dalmas fueron dos conchas esmaltadas completamente en negro brillante (nuestro Negro Teléfono), y que se coordinan perfectamente con el pie de la copa de cristal de The London nº1, que es negro también. Ambas conchas van unidas con dos cintas de cuero azul turquesa y negro con el nombre de la ginebra en relieve.

Typical Spanish es la colección homenaje de tánata. Tiene el mítico botijo español, con Sancho bonachón y redondito, Panchito el perro mestizo que es fiel y amoroso y los cincuencos de muchos colores, formas y texturas para usar en el aperitivo, en los cocidos, en los potajes, de maceta o lo que surja.
Typical Spanish is the tribute collection of tánata. It has the legendary Spanish botijo, with Sancho affable and rounded, Panchito the mongrel dog that is faithful and loving and the Cincuencos of many colours, shapes and textures to use in the aperitif, in the stews, in the soups, in vases or whatever you want.
Este es el proceso de fabricación de la UFO lámpara de Micomoler. Un diseño muy divertido de lámpara de loza, que proporciona una luz suave y apagada es muy decorativa.
En el proceso tuvimoa que hacer un modelo gigante en el torno de alfarero, del que sacamos un molde de escayola.
Posteriormente, una vez seco el molde, las lámpara se obtienen por colada, y una vez secas y cocidas una vez, se esmaltan (en este caso con esmalte transparente brillante) y se vuelven a cocer una vez más a 1040ºC.
El resultado, una vez montadas las patitas, haría as delicias de cualquier alienígena.

Inauguramos un taller de cerámica diferente, para todas esas personas que tienen poco tiempo, pero a las que les gustaría conocer un poco cómo es el proceso cerámico, y más concretamente, el de nuestros propios diseños.
En el taller pajarril de tánata la idea es que los asistentes participen de la auténtica vida del ceramista, con muy buen rollo, pero con contenido teórico y práctico, pues a fin de cuentas lo que más nos gusta es pringarnos de barro.
Os enseñaremos el taller y el proceso de creación de nuestros diseños. Trabajaréis con los moldes, pegaréis diferentes piezas, puliréis superficies y por último, tendréis que decorar con engobes y óxidos uno de nuestros amorosos pajarritos (que nosotras esmaltaremos y después recogeréis una vez horneados).
Queremos que os llevéis un pedacito de nuestro trabajo, pero que participéis en todo el proceso y podáis personalizarlo, de manera que los pajarritos que decoréis sean únicos y comprendáis lo laborioso de su gestación. Aquí podéis ver algunos de los pajarritos de nuestros alumnos, ¿qué os parecen?
Estamos seguras de que os va a gustar, y de que lo vamos a pasar en grande, y pronto podremos anunciaros nuevos talleres de cerámica diferente: rakú, moldes y esmaltes.
